Cultural diversity

I would like to open up the discussion of growing diversity in the U.S. and how the health care system is or is not dealing with this.

For those of you still in school is cultural awareness/sensitivity/knowledge a subject that has been adequately addressed in your program? why or why not?

For those of you in practice are you dealing with much diversity in your work setting? If you have been a nurse for a long time what changes have you seen with your clientele group? What is the primary ethnic/minority group you have contact with?

Does your work provie a safe and accessible place for people of all backgrounds?

Is there education/training given to enhance cultural awareness among workers?
