Nurses Humor

You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching kids to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut-up.

Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your children.

Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like clearing the driveway before it has stopped snowing.

There is only one pretty child in the world and every mother has it," - Chinese Proverb.

Mothers of teens know why animals eat their young.

I asked Mom if I was a gifted child ... she said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me.

Actually, my Mom said she wouldn't take a million dollars for me, or give a plug-nickle for another just like me.

Children are natural mimics, who act like their parents despite every effort to teach them good manners.

Children seldom misquote you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.

The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own.

We childproofed our home 3 years ago and they're still getting in!

Be nice to your kids. They'll choose your, clinic, doctors office, hospital, or nursing home.

Betts, Thanks for this. Have printed it off & intend to share it with others. Made me smile! :-) I'm here to tell you, that last one is SO true!!... How we treat our children will reflect back when we're old & THEY'RE in control!! "As you sow, so shall you reap". :-)

I recently was privileged to nurse an older woman & to witness the dedication, love, respect, care & concern from her daughter was very moving. What struck me was how everything the patient had, ie; nightdresses, slippers, gown, toiletries etc, was brand new. Flowers, cards etc surrounding her bed. I commented to her that she must be very loved, she replied that indeed, she was. I further stated that she must have been a wonderful mother otherwise she wouldn't be getting this well treated now. She said, humbly, "well, I guess I must have been". When daughter came to visit, I commented that I suspected Mum was pretty special & obviously had been / was, a great Mother. Daughter replied that Mum had been totally dedicated to the family, giving unconditional love & support. I told her I hoped I'd be loved & cared for in this way when I'm old. :-) My daughter, with a wicked, mischevious, glint in her eye, keeps reminding me that SHE'LL be the one deciding which nursing home I'll end up in!! :-)...

Cheers from "Down Under".

Grace.

:roll Let me guess Betts....yer a MOM!!!! I especially love the teenager one...am currently living with 4 in the house now. Yep...you guessed it...I'm certifiable....must be why I picked Nursing as a career:D

Actually, having 4 teens in the house isn't such a problem; it's having only one bathroom for them. :roll :roll :roll :roll
