When I wrote this piece it didn't feel quite right and I was worried that the humour was not on target. (it's hard to write GOOD humour).

I will rewrite and post because it is a subject that is a rich field - the difference between the media and cultural mythos of a nurse (the caring hand and gentle caress of the fevered brow) and the reality of having a patient vomit on your shoes while trying to stop the IV from coming out and the IDC from ripping a new urethra while another patient is demanding attention and the phone is ringing and the doctor wants something Stat! while a visitor just wants a few moments of your time!

Just watch this space - oh! and suggestions - good bad and indifferent are welcome.
