Good morning,
Just a bit of a vent. Can anyone give me some advice on how to get a "bad" therapy manager to provide minutes, timely, to the MDS coordinators (there are three) TIMELY without her/him running to the Executive DIrector and reporting ME for bad behavior...because as we all know, MY behavior is EVER so important with respect to the MDS... lol. I have personally, individually and in writing, and in the morning stand-up and PPS meetings, for alomost a whole month now, says these words "Need minutes...". HAD TO HAVE A mandatory immediate meeting with ED, her and I, to "smooth some ruffled feathers" during which he/she LIED and said "I was NEVER told you all needed minutes"....My computer doesn't let me do that....I wasn't aware....I will have to call my manager......that's fraudulant..... that ARD date isn't the one I have...that ARD date was changed...let me show you...THIS IS HOW YOU DO AN MDS.....this gray area here....blah, blah,blah.."
THEN, to top it off she/he touched, no scraped me multiple time with her BIG ASS FAKE FINGERNAILS, trying to show ME how the MDS ARD daily tracker works (which has NO DATA On it) and ends her tirade with this "Well, it's true, we USED to do it like that.....but then....then.....then......". All the while saying, "LET ME TALK!" (It was all I could do to keep a straight face and not fall of my chair laughing....and then I DID get to talk...
Ok, here is my actual vent....THE NURSES DO THIS TOO!!! Yesterday, an RN handed me a semi-empty Dilaudid SW dilaudid set, then tried to run away..turns out they had NOT started a narc page so we could then show we destroyed this med...as she is telling me, for about 15 minutes, in front of GOd and everybody..she says "WHY WON"T YOU LET ME TALK!!!!!". and (little voice now) I wasn't even trying to talk, I was actually POINTING with my finger to the NEW narc page I had just started. She didn't know the RX number, or the mg/ml, or how much was to be wasted or where the DEA paperwork was, and she said "Do you think I ate it? (She meant the DIlaudid)" because the amount "left over" was not what we wasted (which is fine, cuz who the hell could know since they hadn't ever entered it or tracked it in the narc book HOWEVER they had been trackin in the MAR". 8 hours later, she again wanted to know "What do I do", ok, make your mar "amount left" in pump MATCH (this part apparently requires a full college degree to figure out)the narc book.
Will someone give me a fork...so I can put my eye out...I swear it would be easier.
Does anyone think that "LET ME TALK" is in the water at this facility?
Sorry, addendum to my rant: 2 of the nurse managers act exactly like this, and the conversations go just like the above, non-exaggerated report, all the while BOTH are saying, as they get louder and louder, and more frustrated "LET ME TALK!". Should I find a way for me NOT to talk, lol? Seriously though, I can handle the nurses, but that manager is ridiculous, I frankly have never seen such bad behavior also she RARELY initiated or has her PT/OT eval anyone, and I talked to her about the fact that HER company most likely would appreciate it as would I, if she would at least evaluate all new admits (not screen, not a billable activity)and she had no answer, she actually stopped talking (she does this a lot, cuz I don't back down from these poor therapy management styles and failure to therapize the residents (if we aren't then what the heck are we doing in LTC/SNF???).

Well, you asked for tough love. If you act in real life like you write in your posts, it's no wonder the staff thinks you are having behaviors. It seems like stream of conscience writing and is difficult to understand the real problem.
What behaviors am I having if the therapy department won't/can't give minutes, and the other managers dump all over each other? This makes me have behaviors? A I prefaced it, this was a vent, my apologies for not simplifying the problem, which has dutifully been corrected now, interestingly enough, perhaps because of my behaviors?
Ok, it was a little disjointed in the telling of the story, My apologies, will keep it simple and ask the relevant questions.
