Nursing entrance exams for Penn State Behrend, and other Erie schools...

Hello all,

I'm new to Allnurses.com and am already thorughly addicted :).

I just started to research Erie area colleges with good RN programs. The two that are at the top of my list are Edinboro and Penn State Behrend. I am just wondering weather or not they require an entrance exam.

Also any input on these or other RN programs and hospitals in the area would be greatly appreciated.

Penn State Behrend does not require an entrance exam specifically for our nursing major. Depending on previous educational experience (attempted less than 18 credits of post secondary education) and under the age of 25, we require the SAT or ACT.

Our deadline for applying for Fall 2009 is November 30, 2008. Our class typically fills after these applicants are considered.

Thank You so very much. Penn State Behrend is definitely at the top of my list. I am in college with 25 credits towards a psychology degree so I would be considered a transfer student.

What would you say is a good G.P.A. for a transfer student?

Also, I live in Germany and I wont be moving back to Erie until next July so I was considering transfering into Penn States world campus and then applying for a change of major into the nursing program after I recieve my required 36 credits. I really need a little time to raise my GPA up a little more. While I was planning my wedding my grades really took a hit :(

What do you suggest that I do?
