Hello all, just trying to get some opinions on the best route that I should take to earn my BSN. I am seperating from the military in May 2011 and will be moving to the Orlando area so my wife can finish her degree at UCF. So I have been looking into RN programs in the Orlando area.
I would prefer to get a BSN through UCF. I was accepted to UCF back in 1998 before I came into the military, but to reapply I would have to take the SAT/ACT and don't really want to do that. So basically that leaves me with 3 options. SSCC & VCC AS nursing degrees or completeing my AA then transfering to UCF and hopefully getting accepted into their nursing program.
Now I have 2 questions. Would it be better if I took the required pre-requisites for the ASN degrees, complete that degree at either SSCC or VCC then do the RN to BSN degree at UCF? Or would it be better to complete the concurrent UCF/SSCC AS-BSN degree at UCF? I got the information on that from UCF but I'm kinda confused on it. Do you need to complete an AA for this program or just complete the pre-requisites then be accepted to the ASN program at SSCC and UCF?
Cost isn't a really big issue since I will be using my GI-Bill, but basically I'm trying to finish all m schooling as fast as possible. the reason being is that I would like to become a NP or CRNA after I get a couple years experience as an RN. This is a big step for me getting out of the military and I'm just trying to have a good plan of action set in place before I seperate. Thanks in advance to everyone who posts.

Faster way would be SSC/UCF concurrent program
I just got accepted and I don't have an AA degree yet, however I will have it by the end of the semester (december 2010) before I start the program in
(Spring 2011)
I went to VCC for my pre-reqs ,because Seminole State requires pre-reqs before you can start your nursing pre-reqs - make sure you go and see the nursing advisor first (Mr. Aquino) and .... (not the school advisors!!)
Good luck and thanks for serving!
