Hello, I am a male considering going into nursing. I have many questions about nursing career if any of you guys dont mind answering. I really appreciate for any help in advance. I was wondering if it is possible for fresh ADN graduate to get a job at the private office instead of at the hospital and if they can, how hard is it vs. the hospital to get a job. My guess is that hospital jobs more readily available compared to private. Also Ive heard nurses at hospital work only for 3 days a week, would this be different for a nurses at the private office ? since private offices are not 24 hours open. Also I personaly am very sensitive to seeing blood, bodily fluid etc. are these reactions normal and usually go away once you get used to them ? Is there any department of the industry where i am less likely see these kinds of things ? I love to take care of people but this is whats kind of holding me back to go into nursing as career. I am also interested in becoming a nursing manager after I become a nurse. Ive read on the other forums that nursing manager job requires more hours for the same amount of pay but Im thinking if nursing career is not for me maybe I could into managing job. Thanks again for any input :)
I know I probably sound clueless but can anyone help me out.

Getting a job in a office as a RN I would image would be hard as everyone will be after that job so experience would probably be advantageous. Hours will probably match 5 days opposed to 3 days but a lot will depend on hours working. As a student doing your training you will come across lots of different episodes that involve bodily fluids and you do get used to it. Becoming a nurse manager will probably require BSN or higher so ADN may hold you back (others in the US may have different thoughts on that) and will generally involve a few years of experience in that area
Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. I guess there is really no difference between getting a job in the private office and the hospital for first timers. Ive read nurses talk about working in ICU and ER. Im guessing that when you work in these departments youll see many people nasty injuries and unfortunate things. For nurses is there a department or other different specialty offices where they are less likely to see nasty injuries. I know dealing with episodes is probably main part of the most nursing jobs but I wondering if there were exceptions where they dont. Hope Im making sense here
