I am a first year student in nursing school, along with that I play softball for the college that I am at. At the moment I am balancing my studies and practice schedule well. However, I am not sure about next semester. Should I decide to drop softball to focus more on nursing school? Next semester will be busier with practice and games. If I do decide to keep at it for the year, should I play my next season? This will require me to have to commute to play due to a school merge, which will be a 45 min drive there, 2 hour practice, and a 45 min drive back to my apt.

Hope you all can help with advice!!:cat:

Are you currently doing the nursing courses or going through the prereqs still?

I am currently in the nursing program taking nursing courses.

No one can give you a definite answer. It depends on your personal limitations. It sounds like quite a bit of time will be dedicated to softball, though. Of course, that means less time for your studies.

I was offered a similar opportunity, except I was going to play soccer. After much thought, I turned it down. I love the sport, and miss playing, but in the end, my grades matter way more than a sport. No one can give you a definite answer, and it all comes down to the time commitment and if you think you can balance it.

I asked a similar question many months ago, and here were some of the responses I got!

Thanks so much this has really been helpful. Especially since you went through the same problem!
