No more individual competition?

  1. Would you like to share your experiences in teamwork? It seems to be a necessity nowadays. Is it possible to change the attitude of an individual competition to a group cooperation because it is "politically and practically correct"? In my opinion, it may take a few generation to "drift away" from individualism. It is not easy to change cultural values. Grushenka

Sounds like a philosophical question. I think it is a question.

It is a question and it is a statement. It is an invitation to discussion. I think there is a serious conflict: necessity to work in teams versus cultural values. I find some people, no matter what, resistant to working in teams. Do you know any "effective persuasion"? Personally, I do not believe something like this exist.

I think some are team players; Some are not. Motivation comes from within--not externally. Encouragement to/for that motivation can come from with out. It depends also on the work environment. Supportive/Encouraging? Or divisive and hard on morale? All of these factors affect performance, both individual and the "team".

    How am I doing?
