Nursing Abroad

Published

Hello Everyone!

I graduated from nursing school in December 2011. I worked for 6 months in a rehabilitation hospital and I have made the move to Long Term Care as I was not utilizing my skills and learning new skills. My motivation behind going into nursing was always to "help the babies in Africa". I understand this may not be exactly what I will do, but my heart is set on helping those less fortunate abroad. I do also understand that a good basis of experience is most beneficial for this type of placement. My question is, how in the world do I go about finding a position like this? I have no idea where to start. Can someone please help me and guide me in the direction I want to go.

Thanks so much!

Most of those missions are goodwill missions and as such are unpaid.I have a couple of coworkers that have gone to Haiti and Africa to help the less fortunate but these were all staffed by volunteers.Plus you have to pay your own airfare.
