RN to LMT...post discipline in Ohio. Possible?

Nurses Recovery

Anyone have any advice.....

I am an OH RN, I have been disciplined and have permanent restrictions.

I want to become a LMT but it is licensed through the Ohio Medical Board. Does anyone know if this is even possible....all the Ohio Medical Board can tell me is that it is on a case by case basis.

I, like many others, made a decision out of fear and signed their consent agreement and now stuck in this situation.

I have been sober since 2011 and actually have been working for almost 2 years as a nurse. I am in a case management position but am thinking of switching gears.

This has been a heavy cross to bear and will ALWAYS have to notify the board if I take a position outside of a staff nurse.

I want to employ mysef, maybe start a hollistic healing center. I can't do that if I can't get licensed.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Similar circumstance when I went to Resp.therapy school.....tx med board, had no problem granting my Resp. Care practioner lis...I was truthful.......6+months after working as Resp.therapist...it was evident nursing was what I wanted to do, I completed the then three years monitoring stipulations........nursys, will always be there.....but has not been an impediment in my career....

best wishes
