Nurses Recovery

Published

I feel so sad and discouraged. I looked up my own name online, and saw a detailed description of how I voluntary surrendered my license in 2005 for diversion (dilaudid), enrolled and quit the recovery program in my state, then enrolled again in 2014. It also says that the recovery and monitoring program that I am currently enrolled in supports my reinstatement. This is the first thing that someone would see about me if they entered my name into a Google search. I have been in this recovery and monitoring program since 2014....no positive anything. I will be be in active recovery for 8 years in August. I have 11 months left in the program. Is there any way that I can request that the explicit details be taken down from the division of consumer affairs. I could understand if they post the status of my license...but the explicit details of everything that happened? Has anyone ever done this before?

It just feels like no matter how much progress I have made in my life, I will always be reduced publicly to nothing. Anyone that ever looks me up can see this. I have no rights at all... I feel absolutely horrible.

Has anyone ever had this type of information removed. If so, how? Please share anything. I am heartbroken.

I wish I had good news for you or personal experience. I know if you withdraw from the program it's considered non-compliant and reportable to the board. It becomes public information. Maybe contact RAMP to see upon completion if they can facilitate removing that information. I feel for you!

To my knowledge it will always be there. I have it too.
