I want to become a nurse in one of these specialties, but almost all the jobs I see say they require experience in that area already. How did you start straight out of nursing school? And what did you do to get into a specialty? Thanks!

There are many NICU new grad residencies posted on indeed.com.

The particular hospital I was looking to apply at only had job openings posted on the website for RNs with experience. I directly reached out to the NICU manager and asked if they had any new grad job opportunities opening in the near future and she directly emailed me a link to apply. Consider reaching out to the managers/directors of certain units you are interested in and see if they are considering new grad applications around the time you graduate!
