Hi All

What has been your experience in the different hospitals?

Do you prefer city or suburbs?

What is your speciality and why did you choose it?

What is efficient orientation time for a new nurse?

Hey! I am a first year student so I have only been to 2 different hospitals for Clinical. Bryn Mawr for OB, LOVE IT, and Taylor for medsurg. It was a nice hospital but my floor was all suctioning which makes me gag!! :p I start at Riddle next week. I am told we are on a very busy med surg/cardiac floor.

I do to Delaware County Community College. I have 2 more semesters after this one. We cannot choose our hospitals, just the luck of the draw. I have been very lucky so far. Although I am told that the nurses on the floor I am on in Riddle are not happy about having students. That should make it fun :uhoh3:

Where do you go? What hospitals have you been to?

i goto Harcum. We get to choose our Hospitals so i have only been tp Delaware County. Its right around the corner from my house and i have a very tight schedule. my husband wants to start next year so i am looking into some schools for him to apply to. The nurses at DCMH have been very nice. I just started OB last week and all ready i have assisted with 3 deliveries. The patient are very nice for the most part. Thats makes it a little for us as students.

Well if you live very close by, we must be neighbors!! I live not even 10 minutes from DCMH!! I keep hoping to get that hospital but I have not so far! I have a friend who works in Maternity, one in the ER and one in ICU! I delivered all 4 of my girls at DCMH! How cool that you live close by!

Wow what a small world. i have 2 children but not at DCMH. But i will be changing. I have been so amazed with the Doc's and the nurses and the care they give to their patients. I love this website. i cant seem to stay off. i keep coming on trying to get info to start studying for the boards. Do you guys get a review course at DCCC? We were given Lippincott NCLEX Review and i think we will be doing Kaplan.

We have a website: http://www.eriworld.com , that we can take practice tests on. I think the rest is up to us. I study for my tests now using various NCLEX books. The ones I have now are a few years old and no longer have the CD's with them. I am planning on getting new ones soon. So you know anything about the format chaning? I heard that they will be having fill in the blanks and multiple answer questions soon. I don't know when though. I hope after 2007!

They actually have that format now. I think it changed in 2004. if you go to http://www.ncsbn.org they tell you about the format. i only have one book right now and we are required to do ATI. There are some new book coming out within the next few months so i am waiting to get them. Our instructor advised that we try to use current books because
