nurses love

Who else could stand 12 hours at a time, guarding against death, and risk having one's own heart broken, while wearing a smile? Only a nurse." Nurses love their spouse.

Oh come on. This is a bit over the top. I guarantee I love my wife way more. It's a job. A career. That's it. No one and nothing comes before my family.

I didn't marry my job, I did marry my husband. I think it's pretty obvious that I love my husband more. 25 years Sept!

Seriously? I married my husband, for better or worse until death do us part. I never made that vow to my job and I will retire from my job one day and call it quits. I don't plan on retiring or quitting from my husband.

Do I like my job? Yes on most days.

I LIKE my husband on most days too but I LOVE him everyday (anyone who has been in a long term relationship will understand that comment) However if I ever had to choose between my husband and my job I choose my husband.

Can one not like both?

After a long 12 hour day doing what you mention, my spouse has a hot dinner ready. The house is in order, the kids are taken care of and my work is valued.

You know who I love at work? My teamwork-oriented coworkers, the respiratory therapists (my brothers-in-arms), the doctors (who stand for longer than 12 hours at a time), the energetic aides, and lots of other people who remind me that saving lives is a team sport.

I really like my cats.

Why is this framed as an either/or question? Why can't I love both? If it ever came down to a choice, you better believe bae would win every time. I can think of several careers I would enjoy and feel fulfilled by, even though nursing is pretty compelling. My boyfriend, though, is one in a million, and I can't imagine anyone better for me than him.

Oh good lord. I'm going 12 hours for six days this week btw....

Popcorn, please.

Extra large serving!

I really like my cats.

I am pretty fond of my dog

Well, actually, a few of the psych patients I've dealt with have done this. They would stand around for hours on end, laughing. In the old days they were called "Hebephrenic Schizophrenics".

One patient I worked with did something that no nurse I ever knew could do: He talked nonstop for 48 hours straight!

He was great- he talked like he was reading from a detective novel!

Very entertaining.

I love being a nurse but my husband is my soulmate. I'd quit nursing in a second and always pick him first. I was once a great cashier...maybe I'd relive the glory days
