When I did agency while going to school, I did a few shifts there as a CNA. Be prepared to stay busy, which isn't a bad thing as the time goes quickly. Vitals, chemsticks, baths, turning pts, emptying foleys...and start over again. The nurses down there were great though and they jump right in and help out when they can. I usually had 4 pts every night. There, they usually bathe 2xday.
Was it the one downtown or was it Coliseum Northside Hospital? When I did agency while going to school, I did a few shifts there as a CNA. Coliseum on Coliseum Drive. I have also temped at Northside Hospital on the north side of Macon. Didn't care for that one at all. The only thing said to me the entire night was what rooms I had and at the end of my shift, "did you get those HS chemsticks?" Not very friendly staff and I was there 3 nights straight. May have changed by now though.
I worked at the Coliseum Hospital for 9 mos as a nurse extern (CNA duties) and it was a not fun at all. The patient to employee ratio was not too safe on the floor. There were many nights I had 28 patients to collect VS, chem sticks, bed changes (many due to Gi procedures the next AM) etc. The tech duties in the critical care units were great. Few patients, nurses mostly wanted to take care of the patients themselves but the techs helped.
I have only did clinicals at northside which is different but they are both under HCA so I wouldnt think it would be much different.
Good luck

Dumb question, what are the duties in an ICU unit for a CNA? Anyone work there that can help me out?
