Nurse or not ???

Published

Hi!!!! To everyone wanted some insight opinions anything that helps..... Forever i wanted to become a nurse fresh out of high school i had other priorities and issues wich for other reasons i took the short and the worst path.... i went to a vocational college, graduated and actually took the state exam to become a Registered Medical Assistant, that was in 2007, i worked in the field for about 3 yrs only... that was a looonng time ago after that i worked in clerical, banking, customer service and sales.... then life happened 29 y/o. 2 kids and have stayed at home with them for almost 2 years, i dont know if i have too much time to think, or its something that is there because i did not do it..... But i want to become a nurse.... As i mentioned after H.S. I went to a Vocational College so If i go back to college I would start from scratch.. and i think its too late it will take ForEver !!!! ;( And another thing i dont know how starting just now will go with haveing a 4 and 2 yr old my 4 yr old is about to start Prek !!!!!! Which I am so looking forward to see him start real school ;) :) ..... Before i worried in not making enough to pay monthly bills , clothes, gas.. big change in what i think a job could bring me now... Now I see a job or for that reason becoming an Rn or at least get an Associates in Nursing, I think of retirement, actully having a career in 10 years from now, and going forward.... So i guess the question is if I should return to school and become a nurse... I am not that great in Math so that also scares me , maybe its kinda late maybe i should just get any job out there .... and not think so hard on stuff like retirement and 10 to 15 yrs from now.... I dont know any criticism is welcomed... thanks !!!!!! :)

Only you can decide if RN is the right path for you. And you are not too old - plenty of people become nurses in their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
