Nurse Recruiter vent

What is the prerequisite for one to have a nurse recruiter job? Most I have encountered are great, seem like the office type. A few I have encountered recently are very uppity and use medical terms (as if they know more about medical conditions than me), and come off very snobby and condescending. As if they are a higher-up from me. This is just over the phone. Asking me questions and I asked some... and then was surprised I didn't have more unit questions for her.... but I plan on asking the nurse manager of the unit if/when I have the chance. No offense but I don't expect the nurse recruiter to answer my unit specific questions. Also, it has taken this recruiter a very long time to get back to me, and still has to call me back to schedule an interview. Why are some more efficient and nice, and some are so snobby and yet unorganized? Anyway, I don't know what my point is. Just frustrating!

Vent, it's a good thing. The answer to your question why are some recruiters snobby and some are nice? is, that's what people are, a huge mix. Some people are in the right job, and some people aren't, there are people that are grumpy, and there are happy people, it's what makes the world go round'. Just be glad you are one of the happy ones, believe me, they are to ones missing out.

Oh, they can a passive aggressive bunch. I have NO clue why. I recently returned to the hospital that I worked at for 18 years. (left on very good terms) It took her 2 months to "check my references"!! Now, all of my references were in house. A staff nurse, a surgeon and the employee health nurse, AND this recruiter has known me and my family for 25 years!!
