nurse to patient ratio

I am curious, what is the nurse to patient ratio in the med-surg unit here in Indiana? does anybody know state or federal regulations regarding this issue.

Indiana does not have any legally mandated nurse-to-patient ratios for med/surg floors. California is the only state in the union that has legally mandated nurse/patient ratios for acute care facilities.

Oh really? I don't know that.. I thought there's a mandated nurse to patient ratio in any units in the hospital.. Good to know. thank you!
