What is the nurse to patient ratio in a Oncology - hematology unit and a BMT? Are you generally the same right across the USA?
I am just interested in comparing. In Australia I work in a busy 24 bed Oncology - hematology unit and look after 1:6 with another nurse generally a CNA. On nights I look after 1:6 or 1:8 by myself.
In a 9 bed BMT unit, I would look after 1:3 during the day or by night 1:4 or 1:5.
Look forward to your input. Great to have an opportunity to share on this wonderful site.
