Hey nurses!
Ok so here's the situtaion: I went to an information session for a Nurse Externship at a local hospital, and some of the nurse managers were there and we all got to go around and meet with them and hand them our resumes... I had 10 copies of my resume and still fell short... I needed 12.. lol..
I feel like I made a good impression.. and I got a lot of business cards, and I soon as I came home I wrote thank you emails to each unit that I met... just a quick "thank you for your time.. it was nice talking to you.. hope to hear from you soon.."
I thought that would be a nice gesture.. and give me a leg up...
The thing is.. I haven't heard anything anything positive or negative from the units about a possible externship...
I already did freak out yesterday, because I've volunteered at this hospital when I was in high school (6 or 7 years ago.. I'm only 22) and my mom is affiliated with the hospital.. she's been working there for 10 years... so I just thought I would've had atleast one phone call by now.. and a couple of my other class mates have already heard back...
I'm just wondering.. am I starting to freak out too soon.. since it's only been a week.. or should I start getting worried and just figure that I didn't get a position?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Just relax. Remember they received a lot of resume's so I'm sure you'll get a call in the next week or so. Good luck!
Thanks Dorito! I'm starting to feel better about it.. because I really do believe everything happens for a reason.. :)

Hospital HR gets tons of resumes daily. It takes them a long time to look through each one. I would suggest calling the recruiter or the nurse manager you met with and let them know you are interested in the position! Thats what I did and I landed a job at a great trauma hospital. Hope that helps!
