So you want to start your own business?

Starting a business is not for the faint of heart. It takes time, energy and perseverance. Conventional wisdom tells us that it takes companies, on average, five years to attain a stage of financial success. Entrepreneurs have some of the same recognizable personality traits; they are known risk-takers and are often perceived as "troublemakers" in controlled work environments; they are self-motivated and self-directed -- willing to try new ideas without the fear of failure, all while welcoming change.
