Hola!
I begin NURADN 3 in a few months at Chaffey College. I have heard so many terrible stories about this transition class. I am looking for any helpful advice on how to succeed in this course. All advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm currently in LVN at Chaffey and all those horrible stories are exactly why I plan on bridging elsewhere. I love the VN instructors and feel they genuinely want us all to succeed. But I've had too many people who tried RN at Chaffey tell me how horrible it was--people who passed and people who were dropped as well.

Coming From a Prospective Chaffey LVN student............
Sorry I have no advice but if you would be so kind as to tell me if going up the careeer ladder ie.(CNA-->HomeHealthAide-->LVN) is the way to go or at least gets my foot in the door to becoming an LVN. As I'am currently enrolled at Chaffey College for the CNA program there starting August 24, but just unclear if I'm taking the long route in getting my LVN license I went to the information meeting for CNA's but that was a little vague. As I have missed the information meeting for LVN's. Again I'm sorry for any inconveince and if I hear anything about the NURADN 3 I will be the first to let you know!
=-) Thanks!
To answer your question skian;
When I decided to pursue nursing as my career I was hit with several road blocks. First of all, every community college I looked into had a wait list or lottery system. Secondly, I was anxious to start school again. So instead of waiting around for something to happen, I decided to go to a trade school and obtain my VN license. With a VN license you are able to bypass the first year of RN (most colleges) school.
At the time I thought obtaining my VN license would put me ahead of the game. Now I am terrified because everything I have been working hard for could stop at any moment. If I don't pass certain tests with an 100% I am out of the program. Scary, right?
I think it's a great idea that you are considering the career ladder at chaffey college. Unfortunately, I am not sure if Chaffey has a waitlist for the VN program.
My advice to you is to be patient, get excellant grades and remain at Chaffey. All units obatined at a trade school are not transferable!
Good Luck!
Awwww....You are awesome thank you so much LVN butterfly for the advice and words of encouragement, I will continue on with the CNA program in that case. Thank you again for the fast response!
