NP school liability insurance

Published

I was caught in 2010. Could not get a job initially etc. Finally got a job in 2014 and worked off my stips. Released January of 2015 and have been working as an RN on a tele floor at a large hospital system since without issue. In NP school at walden and about 18 months out from graduation. Cleared by the board for licensure as an APRN after graduation. But, having a hard time finding student insurance coverage due to disciplinary history. Anyone know of an insurance company that will insure a nurse post discipline? The ones I have spoke to say it has to have been 10 years from the date of release from the BON. Ugh. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

Good Luck!!! I'm going into the last semester working towards my DNP with just my Capstone left. Honestly I've never heard of this issue being an impediment and hopefully with all my clinical hours it won't be one for me. I hope you can navigate this road block and best wishes!!!

I finally found insurance through a broker. Its going to cost 2k for the year. Sheesh. But hey, at least I can get my clinicals done and finish school!

WOW!!!!! That is not a happy Christmas gift. I have clinical hours scheduled but its not with patient's its for the dreaded CAPSTONE. I'm glad I dodged that bullet. At least so far...

Merry Christmas
