NP distance format

Published

I will be finishing by BSN in December and wish to start in a NP (FNP or Adult NP) program in January. I feel like I have been in school forever and really want to plow ahead and finish as soon as I can. I am willing to work very hard- just want to get done before I get burned out. Because of my rural location I have to go to school via distance format. There are many schools that offer this distance format, but the length of time varies even though the credits do not vary much. I also don't want to have to travel to the campus more than once or twice. Does anyone have advice on reputable programs that are the shortest in completion time?

Thanks in advance,

Ann

University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of South Alabama both have online FNP programs.

Vanderbilt has some interesting NP programs - I think cardiovascular, corrections, and neonatal are all options through them, along with the regular offererings (adult, geriatric)

Clarkson College - in Nebraska? Had a friend that seemed to fly through their program - not sure about the actual requirements, just know that one day she was working in the ER, and about 8 months later she was sitting for her licensure exam for NP.
