NP certificate after MSN at WGU?

Published

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with NP after graduating from Western Governor's University MSN? When I enrolled into this program, which I've done well, and have found it a very user-friendly program, I didn't think clinical nursing was something I wanted to go back to.

However, in my current position, I manage a behavioral health outpatient program, and I really think I've found my calling. Additionally, my area is so underserved, I'm positive I could have a pretty good career from the get-go.

My questions are:

Has anyone applied post-WGU?

Are there any more user-friendly colleges that accept these credits?

I know there will be some issues, as I have done some poking around. It appears that for post-master's certificates, they want a primary clinical degree, of which I do not have...I'll have an MSN in Leadership and Management. I think it's reasonable to take the science courses, pathophysiology, etc...but I'm hoping I'll get some credit towards the other subjects--research, etc...

I'd certainly appreciate any input!

Thanks!!!!

There have been many successful transitions from a WGU MSN degree to NP programs in the Education track that I completed. I can't remember where they were all accepted but if you would like the information let me know!

I'm almost finished with my post master's certificate (AG-ACNP). I did not have any issues being A WGU grad. When I interviewed for the program, I made sure that I brought a copy of WGU's grading policy and GPA conversion. Hope that helps!
