Nova Southeastern University Winter Term 2018

Published

Hi!

I didn't see a Nova Winter 2018 thread so I decided to start one. I applied to Nova via their website on Friday (my transcripts from Miami Dade College and University of Miami is on it's way). Not sure if I have to also apply through NursingCAS but I emailed an advisor and I am awaiting her response. Anyways, thinking about ordering the Kaplan book already to start studying, Nursing School Entrance Exams (Kaplan Test Prep), is this the right one? Is anyone else using something else? Anyways hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Chisel

Hi all,

Did anyone on here apply for NSU BSN Miami campus? If so, did anyone apply for the Baptist Scholars program?

Did anybody be receive the acceptance package yet

Hey guys, I just got a call saying I was accepted! I applied on 8/25 got a call for an interview on 10/18, and interviewed on 10/24. So it took 8 days to get a response. My overall GPA is a 3.0. I do have a bachelors already though, I decided I wanted to do nursing after I got my degree. My kaplan score was an 85 too. Hope this info helps some of you!

Congratulations!!

Which campus are you on?

Fort Lauderdale/Davie!

Awesome, me too! Would you all in the spring 2018 cohort like to start like a group chat to get to know one another? I think it would be great to hear from all of you!!

Hello I'am an undergrad and I just sent my application to Nova for their Entry B.S.N program and what is really scaring me about reading all these threads is the GPA most of the candidates have, ranging from a 3.6-3.8. I myself have a 3.3 and I'am afraid that my GPA just does not cut it. I heard that what they mostly look at are the entry exam score and how well you do at the interview. Any advice?

Hello everyone ,I have a interview coming up soon and wanted to know what can I do to study for the exam.

Did you use the Kaplan book or other online tools ? Please anything can help .And I wanted to know when answering the

questions during the interview do you give examples / or just keep it short?

Any feedback will help .Thank you so much !!!

What was your Gpa before applying if I may ask?

Hey Alejandro, they accept a range of Gpas. For example, I had a 3.2 Gpa but I got an 80 on the Kaplan and got accepted. If you have a high Gpa they tell to lean a little with the Kaplan. If you have a low Gpa they want a higher Kaplan. The interview isn't that important, they just want to see your motivation for nursing. Just make sure you show them you are pationate about nursing. Other than that I would say get around a 70 and up and you should definitely get in! Good luck!

Hey everyone!

So I just got the call today and set up an interview for December 5th.

I was told that we have to take the Kaplan prior to interviewing. I have taken the Kaplan in the past and was curious if I would still have to retake it?

Also if anyone has any advice for the interview it would be much appreciated hoping to finally get this nursing career going!
