Hi, I heard Nova is a really good school, its just pricy! Its about $20,000 a semester....not inculding books and anything else needed!

I see you have all your sciences done you just need

Psychology,Sociology, and Human deveoplment

One Humanity Class

and One general ed class which is just another humanity class

ALso check and see if you need a foreign lang. they may accept it if you took two yrs in high school, if not you'll need that too.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Nova is a great school, but to me it was A LOT more difficult than BC

I was there only the first semester, as I failed one course out of the 5 taken during the first term.

The price of the school probably has gone up since I was there, but when I was there in winter term 2005, one semester was $4K >-- it doesn't matter how many classes you have, each term was $4K, 4x's per year, that is winter, spring, summer and fall terms. so that would of been $16K for the year plus books, uniforms, health insurance (yes you have to purchase THEIR health insurance).

I know I cannot give you information about the entire program because I wasn't there.... however, at my job I do meet lots of students doing their clinical rotations there, and also I know a couple of RN's who graduated from there as well........

And ALL of the persons that I have met have told me that the school is a great school, where you get treated with a lot of respect, and they try to help you out if you are failing your courses, they curb the grades if the whole class failed a test, they have a 99%-100% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam.... and the entire program you are geared towards teaching you the skills to pass the nclex. The math exams, you are allowed to use calculators, and you get 2 MORE chances if you fail the first time, and you are allowed to get 2 wrong on your exam.... compared to BC, that is a phenomenal thing.

Every student signs a dress code agreement, where you dress bussiness casual, so you are not in jeans and t-shirts there, and you wear your school id on you at all times.... which honestly, makes people act better and have more respect and friendly to each other. and of course, everyone looks nice.

when I was there you only needed 33 credits for pre-reqs... but you can check out their site to see what you need.

I absolutely loved the way I was treated there, and it is honestly night and day compared to BC.

"you get what you pay for"

I could of repeated the class I failed in the summer=== but I ended up getting accepted to BC-- and of course BC was WAYYYY cheaper so I chose BC. and I do not regret that decision at all.... eventhough sometimes I wish I had my BSN already--- but over all I am very happy.

I'm a big beleiver in that things happen for a reason, and to this day... me failing one class was a blessing in disguise, because I went to BC, had a baby in the program, and graduated, and now I am doing my BSN at a fraction of the cost without loans at FIU

it's actually about $16-18K Per year. or about $4K per semester... so for a 2 year program, you are looking into about $40-45K for the program, plus the cost of health insurance, books, and university fees.

Nova does not require a foreign language class-- that's the state universities.

Nova is fully accredited, and you can transfer your degree to any other private university and state school

to mch money anyway lol!! bumble were u the one taht said you would not step foot back in BC? if yes where are you doing your BSN.. FIU.. if i go for my BSN later, i will have to do chm lab.. i didnt do it... and i dont have i think 2 more classes, thats needed for BSN.. how long do u have to be a rn before u apply

i wonder f they will take business ethics and iss for psy..

Jam911, I know that FAU does not require the Chm lab if you are doing Rn-Bsn program, I think most universities only require it if you are going straight into your Bsn program.

Nova pricing this term

Tuition for the 2009-2010 academic year (subject to change by the board of trustees without notice): $19,335 for Florida residents and $21,225 for out-of-state students. A Health Professions Division general access fee of $145 is required each year. An NSU student services fee of $750 is also required annually.

lol.. i am not even a RN yet.. i am just thinking ahead

oh wow,, but doesnt most hospitals pay for the RN to BSN or is it not in full

yes they do pay for it...but you have to check with the hospitals b/c you may have to sign a contact...if they pay for school, you work for X amount of yrs....I know that hospitals even pay for your Rn program, if they pay for one yr you work for them for one yr

I said that about MDC & BC! just because of the treatment & dissapointment I encountered at the school........ But at the end of the day I am thankful that BC gave me the chance to enter their program and prove to myself and MDC that I can make it as an RN!

I am doing my RN-BSN degree at FIU. BTW, there are students in my class who are in the RN-MSN program, and they are doing the class are pre-reqs, and those students have various backgrounds in different fields, from business to nutrition

The hospitals usually have a set amount they give to each employee, if you work full time or part time, it all depends on where you are working. and of course, to sign a contract of 1-2 years--- which I don't think it's a bad thing because you are guaranteed a job for those years!!

my friend worked at a hospital that they gave her $3K per year for education reimbursement.

if you work for university of miami hospital-- like one of my friends-- they only pay for university of miami but full tuition! she's getting her master's degree for free.
