I'm a new nursing student and I'm about to finish up my first semester in the program. So far I've been loving it, until I hit clinicals and had to work with patients. The patients were great, the staff at the facility were great, my instructor was great! I don't know why all of a sudden I felt really overwhelmed and like I made a big mistake choosing this as a career. I still want to be a nurse with all my heart, I think I'm just so far out of my comfort zone that it is scaring the mess out of me and making me doubtful. Did anyone else feel like this and overcome it? It is really an awful feeling.
Practicaly every nursing student that came before you. It gets better as you progress in nursing school and start getting experience in a nursing job. You will be fairly comfortable 1-1.5 yrs into your nursing job.
