Nursing Students School Programs

Hi is has anyone applied for NOVA Fall 2023 start date?

I recently applied and wanted to create this chat for anyone that is applying so we could have a space where we could share comments, questions, concerns about the program, and decision letters.

and if anyone is comfortable share your  stats and if you have made it  in the program already share any tips and what the stats that help you get a spot in the program.

I applied! I'd love to know when to expect a decision. I also applied at LRCC.

Are there any out of state applicants?

Hello there! I just got my acceptance letter yesterday (4/21) at around 4pm.

My stats are PSY 230 (A), BIO 142 (B), ENG 111 (B), CST 110 (A), ENG 230 (A), SDV 100 (A), TEAS (84.7). I am currently in BIO 142 and BIO 150 right now.

Also I applied last fall round and I highly recommend with how competitive things have gotten that you find a way to move or have an address close to one of the NVCC campuses.

The only thing I changed this time around is that I moved near the Woodbridge campus to live with family, thus placing me in NVCC's domicile area. When I asked for feedback about my application last time I was told that outside not having BIO 142/150 I had a competitive application but because I was outside the first domicile areas I was being put on a list that would be only picked from if they exhausted either all of the spaces in the program or all the people in the domicile area. Which ever came first. Domicile is the points booster that a lot of people don't pay attention to.

Hi! I applied for fall 2023 and I got my acceptance letter yesterday!
My grades for SDV 101, ENG 111, PSY 230, BIO 141 and MTH 154 are A's.
I believe my TEAS overall was like a 73%. Definitely could of been better but for only being able to study for about 3 weeks prior to taking it, I think it did decent LOL.
For the competitive admissions criteria my grades are BIO 142 (A), humanities elective (not sure what class they used), and CST 229 (A). I'm currently taking BIO 150 right now so that wasn't used for points. I'm hoping to get a B in that class.
I do also have my AS in General Studies: Health Sciences Specialization from nova.
I wish you (and anyone else that applied) the best of luck!

Congrats on your acceptance! I also got my acceptance letter yesterday!

Hi to any future students curious about stats I got accepted with a 3.5 GPA. In my pre-req classes I had an A in sdv 101, B in psy 230, B in anatomy and physiology 1, A in Eng 111, A statistics, A cst 229. With an 89 overall TEAS score, and all co-reqs completed, I'll be obtaining my associates in health science from nova in may.

Hi! I also got accepted into nova's nursing program! Is there any way we can make some sort of chat outside of this to talk about upcoming orientation's and other events?

There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.

One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.

Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on "Create A New Club" in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.

References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.

   Thank you.
