North Palm College of Nursing (NPCM) - Looking for any information

Published

Looking for any info from current students.

How are the classes? Anything you can share? Info is scarce.

I would stay far away and just attend an accredited school. I started early last year and I'm at the end of the program and wish I would have attended elsewhere. The program was great at first but now it's very disorganized! You will receive inconsistent grades on your assignments. You will have no instructor to reach out to and will have to resort back to the director for everything assignment related. They will come up with policies that don't exist in the student handbook you signed. They will allow certain students to retake exams and classes without paying but if a retake is needed you will have to pay thousands to retake that one class. Any grievances or issues relate back to one person- the director! They used to be great before they got greedy and took on more students than they could handle. Now you just will wait weeks for one assignment to be graded. I have applied for student nursing positions for 3 different hospital systems and have been unable to move forward in the process because the school is not accredited only approved. Not to mention everyone's graduation is now delayed because they cancelled clinicals until next year! They have the potential to be great, but like most of these schools they got really money hungry!

Yikes what do you mean they cancelled clinicals for everyone?!? Did they say why?? So they first group that graduated has not? That is very concerning.....

There was supposed to be a clinical rotation that started this month but they cancelled it and now the next one isn't until next year. So everyone who was supposed to attend clinical this month has now been delayed with no valid reasoning, we were told scheduling issues. This was given to us with a few days notice and most folks already took off the time from work and had their flights set! So far from what we know only one person has graduated from the school months ago. There should be another group graduating soon as there was a clinical rotation that just ended a few days ago. They have also made is extremely hard to graduate now with a HESI added that must be passed before graduation can happen(We never had a HESI style exam). The NCLEX readiness course also must be passed. There are 8 exams in that course with the final exam being worth 60 percent of your grade. If that class is not passed you will have to repay to take the whole thing over!

I have been at the school for  over a year, and have did the work, kept up the pace. Dealt with the miscommunications, lack of staff, delayed responses to the students, ridiculous assignment grades, focused more on apa formats than your nursing knowledge, only to get to the end, n the director who owns and runs the school, to use this NCLEX readiness class as a weapon against us. 8 exams you take, that don't count for nuthin, simply padding them want do you have to be perfect with the 60% she attached to the final and you have to the HESI, this is too much. All because the one graduate she has had, didn't pass boards. It's just frustrating that she is doing this to us, it's not fair. It's too much!

The director, canceled clinicals for the ones that was scheduled to go late October. She lied in said it was clinicals site. But it was her decision, and I was told it was due to one of the students not making the 75% in the NCLEX readiness class, n another that wasn't able to come, n the others were still in the nursing courses..

Well for me, the changes started after Justin, the one graduate didn't pass his boards. He didn't take the final in NCLEX readiness at 60% and he didn't take HESI, n fail boards first try. Now she thinks if we can get pass this wall she has put up, we can pass boards. Which that don't determine that, that's on the individual, what she is doing is excessive, she stopping us before we even get to HESI. N yes u have to pay over 1100 to retake 8 exams than a final

that you have to make 80% on to get out. You can fail it. Depending on your average, the least you can make is 70%. I'm told by an accredited school because her school isn't accredited, she can make any changes she wants and they are often wrong. We are just stuck!! Go read the Google reviews, I encourage all, listen to the students who are there a year or more, it's all true.. You have some that just started that she the director ask to give positive reviews, but again they just started. The real testament is from

those that have been there, a year or more.

Thank you for your information and seeing how things are turning out so far. Im worried because I put deposit to start December and how they are handling this is very concerning. It is not fair due to one student failing, everyone is paying for it. It seem they have outsourced the advisors as well as one stated she only communicates with the director via a chat system they have and that's it. So now am not sure what to do as I know I won't get that money back.. 😞

Hi there,

Any new updates how's class going, clinicals, NCLEX prep? NCLEX testing with NPCM.

Thank you

Well the director canceled clinicals for the ones that were set to go late October, she lied and said it was the clinical site, but it was her. She has took the NCLEX readiness class and made it a weapon against us students. You take 8 exams that don't count for nuthin, simply passing them want do, the final is 60% of your grade. If u don't pass course you have to pay over 1100K to retake exams, and on top of this you have a HESI exam u have to take and pass, which is fine. But why the 60% on the final, that's unheard of. She thinks if we get past the wall she put up, we can pass boards. It just so unfair..

I'm sorry! If you can put up with the delayed responses, and lack of staff support regarding issues n etc. And figure out how to do your assignments, and pay the school on time, if your not on the deferred loan. You will be fine until you get to the end. The ending is the problem, as I stated she has weaponized the NCLEX readiness class against u, n she will change anything she likes without notice, reasons, or explanation given. I also contacted an accredited school n was told she can make any changes she likes, that's often wrong because she isn't accredited. Believe me I'm not a disgruntled student, I have did the work, kept the pace, I've pass all the courses first try, when Justin didn't pass boards, she make it difficult for the ones coming behind him.. and it's not fair.

Yes I'm a current student it's going great! The school is 100% online. We take our test through proctored free once you do your clinicals in the last term they're gonna fly out to Florida and pay for it. The program is self paced, you take 2 classes at a time for 10 weeks. We usually have a discussion questions case studies, quizzes, write papers, lectures and reading plus two midterms and two finals for each classes. @FNPDC It's a whole different forum just type in search north Palm college you will see a lot of reviews

Have you made it to the NCLEX readiness class?

I am still debating about this school as the communication has been so poor and not seeing  any progress with other students makes me wonder if this school can be done in 1 year or less as they say.

I find it funny how you say you're a current student with all of these glowing reviews about the school but in another post you mention that you know of people who currently attend the school.
