DUI 'no contest' plean and license

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

hello -- i'm a junior in a bsn program and will be seeking licensure in nc. i've plead no contest to a dui and a domestic assault charge (both misdemeanors in 2006). i've already inquired and the nc board of nursing said they would still grant me a license given these charges, so i'm not too worried about that. my concern is though about employment. of course, i plan to be honest when applying for jobs. both of these charges resulted from a terribly dysfunctional relationship that has been over for a year now and i certainly intend to keep a clean record!

does anyone have experience with something like this? i'd love to hear some feedback... especially from someone that is/was in the same boat or a manager or hr rep.

many thanks!
