Summary: I made a lot of mistakes in my life. I graduated high school not knowing what I really wanted to do and it took my 10 years to figure out that I want to practice medicine. However, I am unsure what I would qualify for (there are a lot of different nursing programs out there). Some basic guidance would be appreciated:
History:
High School 3.7 gpa 1400/1600 SAT
BS. BioEngineer 2.83 gpa
MS. Cellular Biology 3.84 gpa
MCAT 26, patent and a few publications
Thought about becoming a podiatrist based on a friend's advice (hence the mcat) but realized after extensive shadowing, that podiatry =/= medicine. Podiatrist's are extremely limited and seem to be more interested in selling shoes than anything else and it really feels like a redundant profession. Was sucked into the miss-leading advertising, podiatrists claiming to be "physicians" (one of many mistakes I made).
After turning 30, I shadowed a primary care nurse and loved the experience. I really enjoyed pediatrics. However, I am unsure where to get started though. I need help!!
CNA?
LPN?
BSN?
RN?
MSN?
I know primary care APRN is ultimately where I would like to end up.
