Non-nursing related courses!

Published

I am done with all my GE and I need one more class for my AS Degree concentration on Math & Science.

It's not directly related, but I guess it will be useful in nursing. It's under ethnic studies. I find humanities too boring for me. :/. How about the other fellows? What's your thought on ethnic studies/humanities?

My HUM elective was Western Civ. It was anything but boring. But online it was a beast.

American Government

Spring Semester'14

World History

Then I graduate with my AA in Liberal Arts, and transfer to my respective BSN program Fall'14..:D

Humanities was torture for me. I am the complete opposite of the creative artsy type and the teacher seemed hell bent on trying to convert all the science majors. It'd be a cold day in hell before I took a degree in french literature. :yuck:

I'll let you know, I have it tomorrow!

I took two ethnic studies classes. One dealt with Hip-Hop in America and the other focused on the Diaspora of Filipino Americans. Both were great classes because the professor knew how to draw the students into contemporary and modern issues in a not so traditional teaching way. He had us write raps, attend local hip-hop concerts, and participate in community building events. The professor also brought in up and coming artist from the west coast.

Ok so it's an interesting class...I never realized that African Americans settled here before the pilgrims. The prof is very upbeat & passionate about the class so it seems interesting!

Is this your requirement or is it under your general education?

It's a gen Ed course. I had to choose a humanities course that also fulfills an international perspective requirement ....a lot of BS but so far the class is good!
