Non-nursing nursing pins?

Hi all,

I'll be graduating in May and it's that time to prepare for graduation and the pinning ceremony. The nursing pins my school sells are extremely pricey for something I won't likely wear again. I plan on buying something cheap off the internet and I saw several cute pins that are not nursing related.

My question is, is it tacky to get a non-nursing related pin? I ask because the pin I really like is related to a metal band I love, haha :cheeky:. The pin is in no way inappropriate, I just found humor in it and figure no one would be closely observing my pin anyway. The pinner will be my sister.

Don't get me wrong, I recognize it's a very meaningful and symbolic ceremony, I just like to add a bit off lightheartedness to everything sometimes!

We had quite a few people who got non-nursing pins for the ceremony.
