Hey everyone!
I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction, but a little background first.
I have a BA in International Studies.
I was in the Peace Corps for three years.
I am now at a community college taking nursing pre-requisites (I am currently in A&P 2, and microbiology).
My ultimate goal is to somehow be able to work as a nurse abroad. I don't know if the smartest route is to look for places that I would like to live abroad and then apply to schools in those places -or- go to an accelerated BSN+RN program in the states and then begin to look for work abroad. Any help would be much appreciated!
PS- If you need any info about the Peace Corps I am more than happy to share my experiences!
Thank you again,
Tim

Going to school abroad would be very expensive plus you would have to learn the language. If you wanted to return to the US to work you would be considered a foreign educated nurse and have to jump through lots of hoops to get a license. Moving to another country as a nurse is difficult but not impossible. You would need a BSN, experience, a license for that country and a work visa. Plus you would have to speak the official language. EU countries are reluctant to grant work visas to people coming from non EU countries. Accelerated BSNs are also not acceptable some places.

Take your BSN in the US, become licensed, gain at least two years of experience, save enough money to pay for a volunteer nursing experience through a NGO or medical mission.
