Non-degree grad courses to make up for low GPA - Need answers

Published

I want to pursue the NP route in the future. I'm still in my BSN program right now and my GPA, AS OF NOW, is good. However, I want to prepare for the future (I'm a person who always needs to have a plan A and B). IF for some reason my GPA drops below the standard GPA for NP school, will taking the basic "core" NP courses as a non-degree student benefit me? If I do well in the graduate courses, will the schools take that into more consideration over my undergrad GPA?

Some tips/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Most reputable schools would not allow that, if they do ask yourself why (as in they are just taking your tuition dollars). You are either in the program or not, and people not admitted to the program were not permitted to take NP courses.

Retake any undergrad course you get less than a "B" in, for certain.

I agree! I had a school to tell me that same thing, take grad course to improve gpa but it wasn't guaranteed that I was going to be accepted. They also wanted a $300 deposit immediately plus tuition. I declined!
