No RN program this year at HCC

Did anyone know why? I was just told there wouldn't be an ADN class this year. So I'm thinking of Lone Star. Honestly, I wanted to test my chances of Fall admissions. Who has the latest application deadline? Up until now it was HCC. Ah well.

I hadn't heard that this was official yet. HCC has experienced declining NCLEX pass rates over the last few years. It would appear that they decided on this option since they were unable to fix this and maintain the required 80% pass rate needed for ongoing BON approval. I realize that it's probably not much comfort right now, but you'll be much better off in the long run if you attend a better program.

I have my eyes on the program at Lone Star. I hear good things. Right now I'm in A&P I. Initially I was going after the LVN program at HCC but I was getting tired of the run-around. I believe I could've made an LVN work for me but the more I spoke with people the more sense it made to get right into the ADN. I don't know what HCC's problems are but from my experience thus far, new students would be wise to steer clear of this institution for now.
