No reply for a nursing scholarship

Published

I am currently a RN student at Georgia Perimeter and will graduate in December this year. A couple of months ago, I applied online to Northside for their nursing scholarship that advertises that I could receive $3000 for school in exchange for working for them for 1 year....great right!!?? Well it would be if I could get a reply!

I have left messages for the person in HR at Northside to call me so I can either see if they will accept my app or if they are not interested... no call back as of yet (going on 2 months now).

Has anyone had success with Northside and this program? Do THEY just not need nurses or will not need future nurses? It seems like this would be a GREAT way for them to guarantee a future hire. I am very frustrated b/c I could really use that money to school and living expenses plus I would really like to work there. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience??

Really hard to say exactly what's going on. I don't know a single person who followed through on any programs with Northside. However, Piedmont seemed to have the most opportunities for such options. I think this is kind of late to be applying, though.

Best suggestion I can give you is to hit the soonest career fair and be direct with your needs. Worst comes to worst, the Atl VA Hospital offers excellent sign on bonuses and tuition reimbursement. Second place goes to Atlanta Medical Center. They pay you a monthly stipend to pay off student loans.

Best of luck!
