I was just wondering if some colleges dont have an entrance exam? I go to Hawkeye Community in Iowa and I have never heard of having to take an entrance exam. Considering my place in the program is coming soon, I hope I didnt just skim over that little detail..

What is the NET like and what really is it used for? To determine eligibility into the program?

I have the same question. I'm applying to a hospital program where we have to take the NET. I bought the study guide the school reccomended, I hope I didn't just waste $50 on a book. The school has a math refresher class for NET in January, I'm going to that and I'm hoping to take the NET sometime in Feb.

The NET test is an exam on general math skills and reading comprehension skills. To some people it's fairly simple and they score well from the first try. For a lot of others such as myself, the NET can be a killer, especially the reading comprehensions section.

I recommend that you speak to your school adviser to find out exactly how the NET factors into your acceptance into the program. For my school it was THE most important factor. They looked at nothing else aside from your NET score.

Good luck!

It is my understanding that many schools are doing away with the NET and moving to the HESI entrance exam. This is what my school does. There are tons of threads on the NET and even a sticky for you to read all about it (sorry, I don't know much about it!). :)
