No LPN jobs?

Published

Hello everyone! I live in Northeast Ohio and completed a LPN program during my senior year of highschool. I have been looking for work since January but have no luck =( All of the hospitals in my area are not hiring LPNs and the LTC facilities I've applied to want someone with experience. I would greatly appreciate any advice as to what to do. I am currently furthering my nursing education and obtaining my BSN, and it's so stressful trying to find a job that will help me get through college. Also, does anyone know of any facilities in NE Ohio hiring new grads?

Thank you.

Hi! I am just curious how you completed a LPN program while in high school? Maybe that is just in your state? Or something new? I graduated LPN school 15 years ago. Full time was a 12 month program, accredited school. I guess I am just curious how one goes to high school full time and nursing school at the same time!

Hello!

Well during my senior year my highschool offered the students a chance to go to a tech center instead of regular classes. About 40 girls from my school took an entrance test and the top 3 got into the program (they took the top students from multiple highschools in the area) the LPN classes we took also counted as highschool credits so I only to take english and the program was the same length as a regular school year. Another great thing about the program is they paid for my tuition, books, etc. I believe this was done for only the highschool class. Im not positive, but I think there are only 2 programs in Ohio that do this and they take about 20 highschool students a semester.*

Sounds like a very lucky thing!! Were you nervous about taking state boards- I know i sure was!!! If you are able to move- I would say "go north" the state I am in (WI) and in the area of the state I am in welcomes new grads!!! You gotta be ok with very rural, no big city or big town within an hour and a half!! but it is pretty up here, and we welcome new young people and young families!!
