No CA driver license for fingerprinting

U.S.A. California

Published

I'm in the process of obtaining my nursing license in the state of CA. I'll do the fingerprinting next week and I'm filling out the required paperwork for it right now.

On the form, it asks about the CA driver license number. I do not have a CA driver license, mine is issued in the state of FL. My husband is military, so I'm not required to change it. It doesn't give me an option to change the state, it's specifically asking for the CA one. Does anyone know what to do? Can I just write in my FL license number or do I have to have a CA one?

Thank you

If you write in your FL one be sure to write Florida. Don't give them a reason for confusion. Best to call them and ask what they want you to provide.

I wrote to the nursing board, didn't really expect an answer before next week and was pleasantly surprised when they emailed me back just 2 hours later saying:

"You are not required to have a California Driver License in order to submit your fingerprints via LIVE SCAN."

So, there's my answer :-)

Thanks everybody for reading and answering!

Glad to hear you got good news. Good luck getting your CA license.
