NNAS Canada application and Process

Hi, I am ER nurse in USA since 2010, I don't have Green card and I have not been successful in finding US hospital to sponsor me. I went to nursing school here in US and obtained BSN. I applied and submitted my application and required document to NNAS. Since Sep 5th my status states ready for evaluation, is there any time frame for process. what is my next step, what should I expect and is there any thing I need to prepare while it is processing.

I would love to hear from you guys, who had same experience.

    Have you submitted application to the provincial college of RN? NNAS are notorious for being slow. Do you have a job offer in Canada?

    I had no idea about collage, I am planning to move to BC . Can you please inform me in detail , what happens after NNAS approves you? Why am I applying for collage ? Do I find job before NNAS approves me? Thank you for responding .

    College of RN is the same as the state BON. Once you complete NNAS the report goes to the provincial college who will then determine the next step which would be either assessment or license. Most jobs prefer either license or letter stating you meet requirements.

    You should research more about registration in Canada. All NNAS do is provide a report on your training. It is up to the college to decide if you meet their requirements. Then it is a case of deciding which route you are taking to allow you to live and work in Canada. The process is long and not as straightforward as you may think

    Thank you Sliverdragon102 for all the info, how long the provincial college take for either assessament or license. should I start registration for collage now or wait untill NNAS report.

    The college will not look at your application until NNAS report is ready. You could start the process now with the college just be aware you won’t see movement until report is issues. Times will vary with college depending on how timely they receive everything
