NLNAC vs CCNE accreditation...is one better than the other?

Published

I was hoping for info on NLNAC vs CCNE accreditation. I see both when I am looking at school and wondered if it is nationally acceptable to do either. Are both widely accepted for BSN to transfer to MSN programs?

I believe certain organizations will only accept CCNE, so I would check with the school or facility that you want to be a part of after this degree. An example is the U.S. Navy. According to their website and the information I was sent, one of the qualifications is:

"Be a student or graduate in good standing of a U.S. education program granting a bachelor of science degree and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)"

Best of luck!

Thank you for the reply! It seems that most places are accredited with one or the other. I was thinking about which BSN program to choose so it was possibly an issue which accreditation my programs carried.
