NLN Question

So I have seen many posts about the NLN exam and I kept overlooking them because no one at my school had ever said anything about them. Well I found out today from a friend who is already in the program that they have to take the NLN exam the summer after their first year in. Is this the norm or is it usually something that is taken BEFORE getting into the program?

I believe there are different types of NLN exams, the ones we were talking about was the pre-admissions exam. The exam we have to take to get into the nursing program. From your post I gather that you have to take the test AFTER you are apcepted and at the end of your first year. Which is probably a test to verify that you know your information before you move on to your next year. From what I have seen of posts around here, I think some schools do it and some schools don't and there are different organizations like the NLN that make these test, and its the schools discretion on weather they want to give these tests are not.

You should call your nursing program and verify it with them, since they could clarify things for you.

I hope this helps, and the allnurses crew can correct me if I got anything wrong.
