Hi!! The only thing I have left to do is take the NLN nutrition exam which is scheduled for March. Has anyone taken this exam before instead of taking the class? I’ve paid for the two practice exams and scored 56 and 59 and a 62 is required. I’m looking for study materials. The NLN nutrition site isn’t helpful, it only has practice tests to purchase. I thought it would at least give an outline like the CLEP exams but it does not. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Just found this thread and I’m too looking into testing out of nutrition via NlN. How did you find the test? What did you do to study and how did the test go for you? I’ve bought the nutrition for health and healthcare book based on a recommendation from another thread. Any tips?

I only found out about it through my university. They offered the exam there. Maybe check yours and see if that’s an option? I bought the two practice tests on the NLN website and used random quizlets to study. It was hard! I studied different diets that went along with the different health issues and hardly any of that stuff was on there. I thought I failed but I passed. I can’t remember exactly what was on there ? I can’t believe the NLN website isn’t more helpful.
Thanks maggie16 for the reply! My school does offer it, I just now have to decide if I want to try and ambiguously study and try and test out of it or just suck it up and take the course via portage learning for decently cheap. Do you know about how long you studied for it? Did you read a nutrition text book as well? It just seems so daunting to try and learn an entire textbook. At least for CLEP there are decent study guides. And yah, NLN is basically useless.
Maggie16, do you remember how long you studied before you took the Nutrition test? Also, is the test more a general overview of everything vs knowing super specific stuff? Anything you remember about the test or how you prepped would be awesome, thanks!
