NJ licencing app question

Published

I have a question for people who have applied for their license with an arrest on their record. I have an arrest, but no conviction... the charges were dismissed literally hours after the arrest. So my question is this... on the application it looks like they ask for court documents only if you have a conviction. But I am getting worried now that they want the police reports and court docs for an arrest with no conviction too. Anyone have any experience with this? I am literally obsessing over this issue. It happened 16 years ago. I was arrested for drug paraphernalia, it was an empty bag in my car. The detective walked me right up to the judge the next morning and asked him to hear my case asap, where he asked the judge to dismiss the charges, and he did. And that was the end of it. But now I am applying and just thinking, do I need the police report etc? HELP

Thanks!

First I would pay to have the arrest expunged. Second I would contact your BON anonymously and pose this question to them. My guess is you'll be in the clear. Good luck.
