I have only worked at one hospital who made nitro tubing available. We were told the only difference in the tubing was that that there were no ports. That specific tubing was to be used so that no one used additional ports to push other drugs through, there by bolusing the nitro to the pt or hook up incompatible meds to distal ports.
The tubing had a slight blue tint to it but to my knowledge was the same as the regular tubing just minus the ports.

Hello, any of you folks not using nitro tubing anymore for nitroglycerin and propofol? Most places I've worked at use propofol on regular pump tubing but nitro is on PVC free tubing for the most part. I can't seem to find too much evidence on using regular PVC tubing for NTG infusions. Anyone know of any?
