Both Nina Pham and Amber Vinson are no longer infected with the Ebola virus! This is a cause for celebration.
Nina has been discharged from NIH today, and says she is looking forward to reuniting with her dog, Bentley. Unfortunately, Bentley will not be released until November 1st.
Both Nina and Amber have fund-raising pages on the Go Fund Me website. As of today, Nina's has taken in 89K, while Amber's has only taken in 13K. Interesting. Both contracted a deadly virus while risking their lives caring for a patient (wearing inadequate protection recommended by the CDC), and both had all of their worldly possessions incinerated.

Let's hope Bentley's Ebola tests continue to come back negative, so he and Nina can be reunited soon.

Awww, what a cute doggie! And I'm usually a cat person.
All the best to both of these ladies, regardless of how the public may see them. I'm so happy that they were successfully treated and able to resume their lives despite being put through a harrowing experience under less than idea circumstances.

Poor Bentley looks terrified
Bentley does look terrified, but he seems to have gotten used to these strange beings in hazmat suits. I saw a video of him playing ball with one them today.
"Bentley, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, remains in quarantine until the end of the month in Texas, but Nina Pham "will be able to visit, hold and play with him tomorrow," Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said Friday."

Why do they destroy their belongings?
That's a good question. There's really no reason to do that, as far as I know. If they just let it sit undisturbed, any virus on surfaces would die within a few to several hours or days, at the most. Or they could just fumigate with something like hydrogen peroxide vapor.
