What is the best book the prepare for this exam?

This may be a silly question but please forgive me I am just learning about all this nursing stuff..

What do you get certified by these exams for?

I am just confused because they require 2 years experience in the NICU.. so once you have all the experience you wouldn't necesarily need to be certified to get a better job..

Do you get certified in case you go to a diff hospital? Or does your pay increase with certifications?

Sorry for the ignorance just curious why it's good to get certified if you are able to work in a nicu BE4 being certified...

Specializes in Neonatal ICU (Cardiothoracic).

The certification really tests you on info you don't grasp until you're been a NICU nurse for a while. My particular hospital does pay a certification differential. It recognizes dedication to and expertise in your particular field.

Specializes in NICU - 112 bed NICU.

The hospital I work in has a clinical ladder that recognizes education and certification.
